- Sep 5A play count and an empty board are not a contradictionFeatureA quiz could show hundreds of plays next to a note saying nobody had taken it. Both were true and neither explained itself: plays count every run including ones played without an account, while the board and the activity list are people with accounts. The note now says that.
- Sep 5Your score history shows every runFeatureThe list stopped at ten rows with nothing saying it had been cut, so the fastest run your own tile was advertising could not be found anywhere. Every run is listed now, with the count beside the heading. Rows also stop guessing at how a run ended: they say what can be proven and nothing more.
- Sep 5The review counts what you missed apart from what you never sawFeatureA run the clock ended was headed "2 identified, 13 missed" above thirteen rows that all read "Not reached". The heading now separates the ones you got wrong from the ones you were never shown.
- Sep 5Twin shapes explain themselves when you repeat a nameFeatureTyping a name you had already used on the matching shape answered with the name of the other one, which looked like the game giving an answer away. It now says the two shapes are the same and that you have used that pair.
- Sep 5One difficulty for the whole stats pageFeatureA link to a difficulty moved the leaderboard and left the score charts on a different one. Both follow the same choice now, so a shared link opens the page everyone else sees.
- Sep 5The box stops clearing while you are still typingFeatureSome answers have a short nickname registered, and the moment you typed it the answer was taken and the rest of the word you were still typing was left sitting in the box. Massachusetts was the worst of them. Nothing is taken now until you have finished the word, and pressing Enter on the short name still counts it straight away.
- Sep 5Your run history says how each run endedFeatureA run you walked away from and a run the clock ended looked identical: a date, a difficulty and a score. Each row now says what happened, and carries the star or dagger when you played with random order or sudden death on.
- Sep 5The finish screen says which medal you just wonFeatureBronze, silver and gold were being handed out without the finish screen ever saying so: the word only appeared in a panel far below the fold. Winning or upgrading a medal now gets its own quiet line naming the medal and the run that earned it. A run where you scored nothing also stops being dressed up like a trophy and stops pushing you at a different quiet: it offers you another go at the one you were playing.
- Sep 5Practice runs stop contradicting themselvesFeatureA practice run played without an account managed to say both "not saved" and "kept on this device" side by side. Kept on this device is about a run that counted, so practice runs no longer claim it. Drills also explain themselves: an answer leaves your list after two correct in a row, so a clean drill that appears to change nothing now says why. And a signed-out player looking at an empty leaderboard is told it lists players with accounts, and where their own run would have placed.
- Sep 5A right answer stops being told it is wrongFeatureTyping the name of a country or state and carrying straight on, or adding a word like State to the end, credited the answer and then flashed "Not on the list." over the top of the tick, so a correct answer read as a miss. Whatever is left in the box after an answer lands is now yours to keep typing, and the tick stays on screen. New York State and the state of Florida are accepted in full as well.
- Sep 5Twin shapes want both namesFeatureTwo states that are the same rectangle take either name at either shape, but the same name no longer counts twice: once Wyoming has been used, the shape still open needs Colorado. Naming one of a pair can never finish both.
- Sep 5The stats page is not an answer keyFeatureOn quizzes where every question asks the same thing, like naming a shape on a map, the stats page listed the answers in order to anyone who had never played. The percentages are still there for everybody, and the answers appear once you have finished a run, at the difficulty you played and below.
- Sep 5Leaderboards are people with accountsFeatureRuns played without signing in were being listed on quiz leaderboards and in the activity list beside them, which is how anonymous runs came to fill the top of some boards. Your run without an account is still saved and still shown to you, with your own best and the note about signing in, but it is not ranked against other players. Every other board on the site already worked this way.
- Sep 5Escape closes one thing at a timeFeatureWith the feedback options open in full screen, one press of Escape shut both the options and full screen and left the keyboard stranded on a button while the clock ran. Escape now closes whatever is on top and puts the keyboard back in the answer box. The stats panel also stops offering a close button while it is tucked away out of sight.
- Sep 5A name two countries share asks which one you meanFeatureTyping Korea at South Korea, or Congo at one of the Congos, was counted as correct. A name that belongs to two countries now asks you to be specific, and costs you nothing. England is not accepted for the United Kingdom again either: it says England is part of the United Kingdom and asks for the country. Britain and Great Britain still count.
- Sep 5Review rows name the shape, not your typingFeatureOn the two states that look identical, the review listed whatever you typed as the name of the shape, so Colorado could be listed as Wyoming. Each row names the outline again and notes its twin once. The green chip during play shows the full name of the answer for an abbreviation, and both names only where two shapes genuinely share them.
- Sep 5Running out of time is recorded as the whole clockFeatureA run that used every second of a three minute limit was being saved as two fifty nine, because the clock stops a hair before the round number. Timing out now records the full time you were given, which is what you actually spent. Playing without an account also gets the difficulty named next to your best, the way it always was when signed in, and the leaderboard beside a finished run opens on the difficulty you just played instead of always on hard.
- Sep 5Two clocks, one answerFeatureThe same run could be called fourteen seconds by the finish screen and fifteen by the panel beside it, because the clock you watched counted seconds down while the saved time rounded up. Times are now taken the way the clock showed them, and every place that prints one uses the same formatting. Practice runs also say what they are once, in one place, instead of two sentences that did not quite agree.
- Sep 5A run that ends is a run that counts as playedFeatureA Sudden Death run that ended on your first answer showed a finish screen and then vanished: it reached neither your history, your play count, nor your best. Every run that ends is now recorded, whatever it scored and whichever modifiers were on. It still earns nothing when you barely started, which was the point of the old rule.
- Sep 5Practice runs stop talking about difficultyFeatureIn a drill or a Retry the rest, naming a country outside that run was answered with a line about it being in a bigger set and not counting on this difficulty, in a run where you never picked a difficulty. It now just says the answer is not in this run.
- Sep 5Practice runs judge you against the practice runFeatureIn a practice round over the ones you keep missing, typing a country that was in that very round could be answered with the name of a different country and told it belonged to a bigger set. A name you can still reach in the run you are playing is now judged against that run.
- Sep 5The score chart and the leaderboard count the same peopleFeatureA quiz could show a top score of 39 while the leaderboard right below it showed a best of 3%. The chart was counting runs that are hidden from the boards. Both now show the same players, the chart says how many public takes it is built from, and no run is left out of the picture for scoring higher than the chart expected.
- Sep 5Two-letter state codes say why they do not countFeatureTyping NC at North Carolina is refused on purpose, but it was refused with the same message a nonsense word gets, so it looked broken. It now says to type the name rather than the postal code. The last ten seconds of a timed run are also much harder to miss: the whole clock turns, rather than just the digits.
- Sep 5Quiz activity stops claiming nobody has playedFeatureThe activity list beside a quiz could say "no public takes yet, be the first" while a real player sat on the leaderboard directly above it. It was only ever looking at the ten most recent runs, and on a quiz we had been testing heavily those were all ours. It looks back far enough now to find the runs that are actually there.
- Sep 5Small truths on the finish screenFeatureStopping a run early is now called finishing early instead of being announced like a completed run. Playing without an account no longer says you need one to earn medals and then hands you a bronze: your medals are kept on this device, and an account is what keeps them everywhere. A guest on the leaderboard is shown as a name rather than a link that goes nowhere, and practice runs describe themselves the same way wherever you meet them.
- Sep 5The last pass says so, and a word we do not know costs you nothingFeatureOn shape quizzes the rules change for the last pass: skip stops meaning "later" and starts meaning "gone". The only sign of that was the wording on the skip button, so anyone who was not reading it lost outlines they meant to come back to. The run now says it plainly next to the counter for as long as the last pass lasts. Separately, typing something the quiz does not recognise no longer looks like getting it wrong: it kept the same red cross as naming the wrong country, even though it costs you nothing and the shape stays open. It gets its own quiet mark now, so a red cross means one thing only.
- Sep 5A state abbreviation no longer counts as the stateFeatureTwo-letter postal codes have never been accepted as answers, but typing one with a space in it slipped through: NC was refused at North Carolina while N C was credited. Same two letters, opposite answers, decided by a space. Neither counts now, however you space or punctuate it. Writing N Carolina still counts.
- Sep 5Your recorded score is the score you sawFeatureTyping one country at another one that contains its name, like Virginia at West Virginia, was called wrong on screen but saved as right, so a run with a mistake in it could be recorded as perfect and take a medal and a fastest time it had not earned. The screen and the record now come from the same decision. Runs already saved that way have been corrected.
- Sep 5Finishing a name no longer costs you the next oneFeatureShort forms like US and NC are accepted, which meant typing the full name credited the answer partway through and left the rest of the word in the box, ready to stick to whatever you typed next. Finishing the name you started is now understood as the same answer.
- Sep 5Countries answer to their own namesFeatureDeutschland worked and Magyarorszag did not. Countries now accept what they call themselves, with or without the accents: Suomi, Sverige, Espana, Polska, Hellas, Nippon and the rest.
- Sep 5Your medal names the run that earned itFeatureThe line under a medal named your best run in one difficulty, which is not the same as the run that won the medal. A silver could sit above a medium run that only earns bronze, while the hard run that actually won it went unmentioned two inches away. The line now names the run that earned the medal on show, and says nothing at all rather than crediting a run that did not.
- Sep 5A clean run shows its accuracy againFeatureAccuracy disappeared from the finish screen exactly when it was a hundred per cent, so a perfect run looked like it was hiding something while a near miss proudly showed ninety-seven. It shows whenever you made a guess. Giving up inside a practice run also no longer claims the run is about to be scored, and clearing a one-answer drill no longer calls itself a flawless run.
- Sep 5A misspelling no longer eats the answer you type nextFeatureTyping a country slightly wrong could credit it before you had finished the word, and the leftover letters then stuck to whatever you typed next, so a fast run after one typo lost roughly a third of its answers. The box is clean after every answer now, and an answer typed immediately after a misspelling counts.
- Sep 5A country you named correctly is never called wrongFeatureOn an easier difficulty, typing a country that only appears in the bigger set told you it was not on the list if its name happened to start another country name, so Niger and Guinea were refused while Chad and Peru were not. Every one of them now says the same thing: right answer, bigger set. Typing a name two countries share, like Korea, asks which one you mean instead of picking one for you. England is no longer accepted for the United Kingdom: Britain and Great Britain still are.
- Sep 5Countries drawn at their own sizeFeatureFrance was drawn zoomed out far enough to include French Guiana, which left mainland France a scatter of specks on the card. Outlines are now framed on the country itself, so a distant territory no longer decides how far out the picture pulls. Four sets were affected.
- Sep 5Practice runs play the questions they promisedFeatureStarting a drill from the "to work on here" link played the whole quiz while the banner above it said you were drilling two questions. It now plays exactly the questions it names, whether you click into it or open the link directly.
- Sep 5The numbers on a map quiz add upFeatureA map quiz card said how many countries it asks and how many it cannot draw, and the two did not add up to the published roster. The card now accounts for every country, grouped by why it is left out, and the play count on a quiz means the same thing as the play count on its stats page.
- Sep 4Finish untimed shows you the score it just savedFeatureChoosing to finish untimed banked your score and then, about a second later, swapped the result screen for a practice board with no way back to it. The score is now the screen you land on and it stays there, with keeping going for practice offered as a button on it rather than something that happens to you.
- Sep 4Your best follows the difficulty you picked, before you startFeatureSwitching difficulty on the setup card updated the card but left the panel beside it showing your Hard best, so two readings of the same thing disagreed while you were still choosing. Both follow the difficulty you have selected now, from the moment you pick it.
- Sep 4Score charts now match the difficulty you playedFeatureThe score distribution and the percentile curve on a stats page mixed every difficulty together, so a strong Easy run and a weak Hard run sat in the same bar and the numbers underneath were out of a total nobody had played. Both charts are now cut by difficulty, with their own totals and their own count of players, and a set of tabs to switch between them. The page opens on the difficulty you last played, the choice stays in the address bar so you can link to it, and a difficulty too few people have played says so instead of drawing a line through three runs. Quizzes that only have one difficulty are unchanged.
- Sep 4A doubled letter in a country name is forgiven againFeatureTyping Sweeden at Sweden was refused outright while Polnad, Belgum and Netherlnads were all accepted on the same run, which made the near-miss rules look arbitrary. A repeated vowel is now treated as the slip it is, and the board and the scoring agree on it, so an answer that is credited on screen stays credited.
- Sep 4Your best now belongs to the difficulty you are playingFeatureStart a Medium run and the panel beside the board would show your Hard best, with nothing saying which difficulty it came from, while the counter next to it counted out of the Medium set. It now shows your best for the difficulty you are actually playing, says which one that is, and says plainly when you have not finished that difficulty yet instead of borrowing a number from another. A best set on Easy also reads as a score again rather than a bare percentage.
- Sep 4Retrying the ones you missed says it is practiceFeatureRetry the rest has always been a practice round: it is scoped to the answers you got wrong and it never enters your score history. The screen did not say so, and a clean sweep of the retry got the full finish celebration and a medal line for a run that was never recorded. A retry now carries the same practice badge an untimed run does, for the whole run, and finishes quietly with your answers to review.
- Sep 4Answers typed quickly are no longer swallowedFeatureIf you answered and started typing the next one straight away, the first few letters could disappear entirely. Nothing you type is dropped now. On shape quizzes the box also stopped promising it would accept a name it was going to reject, and a pair of identically shaped states now needs both names rather than the same one twice.
- Sep 4Typing a neighbouring country no longer scores the one on screenFeatureOn shape quizzes, typing "Virginia" while West Virginia was showing scored it as soon as you reached the fifth letter, before you had finished the word. A part-typed name heading for another place in the quiz is no longer taken as the one in front of you. Accuracy also stopped counting skips as wrong answers, sudden death and random order now survive a page refresh, Escape closes only the thing on top, and long answers in the review are no longer cut off.
- Sep 4The right answer is accepted again on shape quizzesFeatureA change meant to stop lookalike names being marked correct went too far: typing the exactly right name could be answered "be specific" instead of being accepted, and one quiz could not be started at all. The correct name of the shape in front of you is now always accepted. Naming a different place from the quiz is still wrong, on every difficulty. Skipping clears the box, the clock turns red in its last ten seconds, Escape closes the give-up box, and the per-question stats now compare you against players who actually reached that question.
- Sep 4Pausing no longer counts against your timeFeatureThe clock on screen stops when you pause, but the time saved against your run did not: it kept counting while you were away, so a fifteen out of fifteen that took twenty seconds went into the record as one minute forty-one. Your fastest and every board sorted by time were wrong for anyone who paused. A run now records the time you actually watched tick by.
- Sep 4The finish screen leads with your score againFeatureA run that ran out of time used to be headlined by its accuracy, so four right out of thirty-nine could sit under a cheerful sixty-seven per cent. The score comes first now, accuracy sits beside it, and a run that did not get through the whole quiz says how many questions it actually reached. A new personal best also names the difficulty it was set on, and the line about signing in to claim a run no longer shows up when you are already signed in.
- Sep 4A neighbouring country no longer counts as the one on screenFeatureTyping "Virginia" at the West Virginia shape used to be marked correct, and the same went for dozens of lookalike pairs across the map quizzes. A name that belongs to another place in the quiz is now taken to mean that place, so it is marked wrong where it belongs. Bare names that fit two members, like "Congo", ask which one you mean and cost you nothing. Outlines are also drawn tight to the country now, so a distant island no longer shrinks the mainland, and closing the cues menu or the give-up box puts your cursor back in the answer box.
- Sep 4Sudden death on shape quizzes stops punishing a blankFeatureWith sudden death on, typing something the quiz did not recognise used to end the run on the spot, which made the whole modifier a gamble on spelling when the only thing on screen is a shape. Now an unrecognised answer just says it is not on the list and you play on. Naming a different country from the quiz still ends the run. Skip also says what it will do: "skip for now" while there is a last pass to come, "skip for good" once there is not, and the button is big enough to hit.
- Sep 4Finishing signed out tells you where the run wentFeaturePlaying without an account used to end in silence: nothing on the finish screen said what had happened to the run, and the roads below it still read "not played" under the quiz you had just finished. The finish now says your score is kept on this device and that medals and roads need an account, and the roads say "sign in to start a road" instead of claiming you never played.
- Sep 4Naming the wrong country is no longer marked rightFeatureTyping "Iceland" at the Ireland shape used to be accepted as Ireland, because it was close enough to the only answer on screen. A real country name is now taken to mean that country, so it is marked wrong where it belongs. A wrong guess also stops sitting in the box waiting to be submitted against the next shape, long names like "Russian Federation" no longer spill over, and the setup screen tells you up front how many shapes the mode covers and which ones it leaves out.
- Sep 4Your medal says which run earned itFeatureThe line under a medal names the run that won it. It used to pick whichever of your runs scored the highest percentage, so a perfect run at an easier setting could end up captioning a Gold you earned on Hard. It now comes from the difficulty the medal was earned at.
- Sep 4Playing signed out records your best againFeatureOn type-in and map quizzes a run you played signed out was never saved to this browser, so the rail kept saying "no completions yet" even straight after you finished. Your best is recorded on every mode now, and the rail updates as soon as the run ends instead of waiting for a reload.
- Sep 4A photo quiz no longer hides its answers in plain sightFeatureOn Snap boards the picture is the puzzle, but every photo carried the answer in the page code, where a screen reader would read it out and anyone curious could find it. The pictures are anonymous now. Signing in also stops the sidebar telling you to sign in for a second or two while it catches up.
- Sep 4Typing an answer no longer eats the start of your next oneFeatureOn Outline, finishing a name could send the last letter you typed into the next shape’s box, so a perfectly good answer went in as something like "iTennessee" and was marked wrong. Your answer now lands where you meant it. Naming an outline you already got wrong tells you it is closed instead of claiming you named it, the setup card admits that skipped shapes come back at the end, and full official names like "Republic of Moldova" are accepted.
- Sep 4Losing a run is one screen nowFeatureGetting knocked out, running out of time or giving up shows a single card with your score and what happened, then takes you to the answers. No road animation, no "next up" to click past. Giving up also stopped leaving a stray box sitting on top of your results.
- Sep 4Your best is a score you could still matchFeatureWhen a quiz changes size, an old run could leave you looking at a best like "39/40" on a 39-question quiz, next to a medal that said 39/39. Your best now prefers a run on the quiz as it stands today, and if the only one you have is from an older version it says so instead of showing a total the quiz can no longer reach.
- Sep 4Outline tells you the rules, and the last shape no longer traps youFeatureYou get one answer per outline, and now the quiz says so before you start instead of letting you find out the hard way. When you get one wrong it tells you what it actually was and what you typed, so the miss teaches you something. With one shape left, Skip used to do nothing at all and the only way out was to give up: it now finishes the run properly. US States has Easy, Medium and Hard tiers instead of throwing all fifty at you at once, and Kansas and North Dakota are separate answers again, because you really can tell those two apart.
- Sep 4A daily quiz you walked away from is waiting where you left itFeatureReload the page in the middle of the daily and it picks straight back up at the question you were on, with the answers you already got right still counted. Answering the last question and closing the tab now finishes the run instead of leaving the site unsure whether you played today. A one-letter slip in a type-in counts as the answer you meant rather than a miss, and the Play again button on a finished word search is readable in light mode.
- Sep 4Match on a phone shows the pictures and the answers togetherFeatureThe faces and album covers were big but stacked one to a row, so by the time you scrolled to the last picture every answer name was off the screen. Pictures now sit two across, so a face and the names it could belong to are on screen at once, and each one is still large enough to recognise.
- Sep 4Outline stops rejecting correct answers from fast playersFeatureAnswering one country and immediately typing the next used to throw the second answer away and tell you it was not on the list, even though it was right. The board now moves on the instant your answer lands, so the game is always asking about the shape you can see. Skip no longer steals the keyboard: you can carry straight on typing. Shapes are framed on the country itself, so France and the United States are no longer drawn tiny in the corner because of a distant island, Russia is drawn whole in the Europe quiz instead of ending in a straight line, and places whose outline is just a dot or a smooth blob are left out. Where two places really are the same shape, like Colorado and Wyoming, either name is accepted.
- Sep 4Practice runs are labelled only where they really are practiceFeaturePicking Untimed on a quiz that has no clock to begin with no longer says the run is practice, because those runs are saved like any other. Untimed runs on the quizzes that do have a timer still say practice before, during and after, and Multiple Choice and Fill in the Blank now say it during play too.
- Sep 3The results screen says how your run endedFeatureGetting knocked out on a wrong answer, running out of time, giving up and finishing a quiz all used to say "Run complete". Each one now says what actually happened, and a run you walked away from is never called flawless. Accuracy is your correct answers out of the ones you actually attempted, so it stops being your score printed twice, and it hides itself on quizzes where nothing can count a wrong attempt.
- Sep 3Losing a run no longer gets a victory lapFeatureGiving up, getting knocked out or running out of time goes straight to the short version of the finish animation, and running out of time with nothing on the board skips it entirely and takes you to the answers.
- Sep 3Medals are explained, and the road advice is honestFeature"What are medals?" now opens a page that actually says what Bronze, Silver and Gold are and exactly what earns each one. On the roads panel, a quiz that offers difficulty levels tells you which one lifts you to Gold instead of suggesting another run at any setting would do it.
- Sep 3Search finds people and years, not just quiz titlesFeatureType a player, a coach, a director or a year and you get the person or the year as its own result, with how many sets they turn up in. Open it and you get everything they appear in. Film sets also name the cast members who have quizzes of their own, and an actor page names their films, so you can walk from Inception to Leonardo DiCaprio and back.
- Sep 3Movies and Music can be browsed by decadeFeatureBoth branches now open with a row of decades, and a Decade filter sits beside the mode and difficulty chips. Pick the 90s and you get the films, shows and records that fall in it, and the choice stays in the address bar so you can share it. Branches whose sets have no year do not pretend to offer it.
- Sep 3Drill my misses remembers what you keep getting wrongFeatureA new page in your account collects the answers that catch you out, grouped by the quiz they came from, with a button that plays just those as practice. Get one right twice in a row and it drops off the list. Get it wrong again and it comes back. A quiz you have unfinished business with says so at the top of its page.
- Sep 3New mode: Outline. Name the country from its shape alone.FeatureEvery set that has a map jigsaw now also has Outline. One country, state or province at a time, drawn on its own with no neighbours and no labels, and you type what it is. Difficulty follows the same tiers the set already uses, so Easy on Outline is the same places as Easy on Type-in, and the end of a run shows every shape back to you with the ones you named and the ones you missed.
- Sep 3The cookie notice no longer sits on top of the Start buttonFeatureOn a first visit the cookie notice could land over the Start button of a quiz, so the first click went to the notice. On a desktop it now sits in the bottom left corner, and on a phone at the top, away from anything you tap to play.
- Sep 3Fourteen trophies that were missing from the boardFeatureSoccer, Basketball, Baseball, Football, the NBA, the NFL, MLB, the five big European soccer leagues, Science, and Books and Literature all have a Master trophy now. Quizzes in those groups were not counting toward any trophy at all, so the climbs simply never appeared on your trophies page or in your open ascensions. They do now, and the runs you have already played count toward them.
- Sep 3Leaderboards can be filtered by category, by mode and by weekFeaturePick a category, pick a game mode, or both, and the board ranks players inside that slice instead of only across everything. Your own place shows up in every combination you pick, and the address bar keeps the choice so you can share it or come back to it.
- Sep 3Plainer words, honest counts, and a Surprise me buttonFeatureThe site now says medal where it used to say tier, and every trophy tells you how to earn it right on the card instead of hiding it in a tooltip. Each mode chip carries a one-line description, so you can tell what Snap or Tile Select is before you play one. A new Surprise me button in the menu drops you into a random quiz, and every branch page has a Random in this branch link beside its count. The home page leads with the three daily puzzles instead of a search box, adds a Browse by category row, and stops showing keyboard shortcuts on phones that have no keyboard. Counts stopped contradicting each other: the number of quizzes on the site is the same number everywhere, a branch says how many sets and how many quizzes, and nothing reads "1 plays" or "1 days ago" any more. If your account has no display name, the greeting uses your username exactly as you typed it.
- Sep 3The clock running out no longer costs you the boardFeatureWhen the countdown ends with answers still open, you can keep going untimed. The run you just played is scored and saved exactly as it stood when the clock stopped, and the rest of the board carries on as practice that records nothing. Reaching for Give up on a timed run offers the same thing.
- Sep 3The finish animation gets out of your wayFeatureIt is shorter once you have seen it a few times: your score first, the one road you moved, and what to play next. It closes itself when it reaches the end, there is a proper Skip button on every screen, and a give-up or a sudden-death loss gets the short version straight away. Want the long one back? Replay animation is on the results screen.
- Sep 3Every quiz has a Share buttonFeatureFinish anything and you can copy a card with the quiz, your score, your time and a row of squares for what you got right, then paste it wherever you like. It works signed out, and the link sends people to the quiz itself.
- Sep 3Every results screen looks the same nowFeaturePlay again, Retry missed only, Share, Back to setup and Back to the topic sit in the same place in the same order whatever you just played. Play again really does play again with your settings instead of dropping you back on the setup screen, and the replay button no longer sits on top of the answers you are reading.
- Sep 3Multiple choice explains the answerFeatureOn quizzes that have one, getting a question wrong now shows the short explanation of the right answer while it is on screen, and again next to that question in the review. The reveal waits long enough to read it.
- Sep 3Multiple choice answers sit under your thumbFeatureOn a phone the four answers used to finish in the top half of the screen, so every tap was a stretch. They sit at the bottom now, with roomier rows. Sets that are a selection rather than the full catalogue say so on the board itself, not just in the description.
- Sep 3The Daily Cross is rebuilt: everyday words, fair clues, a Check buttonFeatureThe mini crossword used to ask for words that are not words, so almost nobody finished one. Every puzzle, past and future, is now built from ordinary vocabulary and every clue is tested to make sure a normal person can get it. Check marks your wrong letters for free, Reveal gives you a letter or a word when you are stuck, and finishing gets you a real result card with your time, something to share, and the countdown to tomorrow. Across and Down now sit side by side instead of behind tabs. A puzzle you reveal answers on still keeps your streak, it just stays off the fastest-times board.
- Sep 3Ranked quizzes no longer show a checkbox that did nothingFeatureRanked runs have never had a clock or the Sudden Death and Random modifiers, but the setup screen still showed an Untimed checkbox above the board. It is gone.
- Sep 3Click the Map lights up under the cursor, and you can play it with a keyboardFeatureThe country under your cursor now highlights, so on a crowded map you can see what you are about to hit before you commit. Tab into the map and the arrow keys walk from shape to shape, Enter clicks. The prompt naming your target has moved off the map: it used to be drawn over Faro and both island boxes on Portugal, over Italy, Spain and Greece on Europe, and over the Tampa and Sunrise dots on the NHL map. And the shorthand names printed on a map are no longer ambiguous: Czechia showed "CR", the same short form as Costa Rica, and twenty-six other pairs collided the same way. Every one now carries its own three-letter code.
- Sep 3Map quizzes fit a phone, and a swipe is no longer a wrong answerFeatureA map on a phone used to open zoomed so far in that most of Europe was off-screen. It now opens showing the whole board. Swiping the page over a map used to count as a tap, which permanently lost you that state: swipes scroll now, only a real tap answers. And a wide map like the United States no longer floats as a strip in a tall empty box.
- Sep 3Scrolling past a map on a quiz page scrolls the pageFeatureEvery map-based quiz page had a trap in the middle of it: putting your cursor over the map preview and scrolling zoomed the map instead of moving the page. It scrolls now. Hold Ctrl and scroll if you want to zoom that preview.
- Sep 3The review map after a map quiz fills its boxFeatureFinishing a map quiz on a tall country like Portugal used to leave the map about 120px wide in a large empty panel, with the names too small to read. It now fills the panel, so you can see what you missed and where.
- Sep 3Puzzle difficulties say what changes, and the whole map fits the windowFeatureThe three puzzle difficulty buttons all read the same piece count, so there was no way to tell them apart without reading the note underneath. They now say what actually changes: the target blinks, the outline only, or scattered with no shelf. Each one has its own par time, so a flawless run on the hardest setting is no longer judged against the easiest setting's clock. And the board no longer runs past the bottom of the window, so you are not dragging a piece to a slot you have to scroll to find.
- Sep 3Faces and album covers are big enough to recogniseFeatureMatch on a phone shrank the photos to thumbnails in the mode whose whole point is showing you the cast. The pictures now fill their side of the board at their own shape, with no letterboxing. Album covers in Snap were a small square floating in a big white tile; the artwork now fills the tile.
- Sep 3Search finds people, places and branches, and the filters workFeatureSearching a person, a region, a genre or a branch now finds the quizzes that contain them, not just the ones with the word in the title: try Gretzky, Tarantino, Britpop or football. The best match comes first instead of the most played one, a search that finds nothing says so and offers a way forward, and when only part of what you typed matches, you get those results labelled rather than an empty page. The palette says how many results there really are and takes you to the rest. The Easy, Medium and Hard filters now return quizzes on every branch instead of coming back empty.
- Sep 3The quiz setup screen says what it will actually doFeatureYour timer choice now carries over between quizzes, so picking Untimed once is enough. Type-in quizzes had two difficulty rows and the top one did nothing; there is one now, and it is the one that starts the game. The time limit under the title matches the difficulty you have selected, and quizzes with no clock no longer claim one. The Best, Fastest and Plays boxes say whose numbers they are and which difficulty they cover, and signed out you see how many people have played rather than a zero.
- Sep 3One page for every daily, with a countdown to the next oneFeature/daily now lists all eight daily puzzles, not just the three picked as today's roads, each with a checkmark once you've played it. A live countdown to the next set (midnight Eastern) replaces the old static "check back later" line, on the hub and on the daily trivia finish screen.
- Sep 3Daily Trivia finish screen shows what you pickedFeatureThe results screen after a daily now shows every choice for each question, with your pick and the right answer both marked, the same view you already got on a return visit. A perfect run reads "10 of 10 correct" up front; the points line underneath spells out the 9-for-answers, up-to-1-for-speed split so a 9.92 next to a perfect score never looks like a bug. On a phone the results no longer squeeze the question text into a sliver next to the timer.
- Sep 3The site follows your device themeFeatureFirst visit now matches whatever your phone or computer is set to, light or dark. Pick Light or Dark yourself any time from the theme button and it sticks.
- Sep 3Saved quizzes page works againFeatureOpening your saved list used to crash once you had a quiz saved. It loads clean now: every saved quiz, unsave whenever you want.
- Sep 3Word searches lead with a small boardFeatureThe list used to open on the biggest 30x30 boards. It now starts small and grows, and a Size filter (Small, Medium, Mega) jumps straight to the size you want.
- Sep 3Signing in drops the comment captchaFeatureYou're already signed in when you comment, so the bot check is gone from that box. It still runs where it matters, like signup.
- Sep 3Untimed runs say they are practiceFeatureUntimed has always been practice: nothing from the run is saved, so nobody can take all day and walk off with a medal. It used to be a line of small grey text you could easily miss. The timer option now reads "Untimed · practice", the note under it spells out exactly what is not saved, a "Practice run" tag sits in the corner for the whole game, and the results open with "Practice run, not saved".
- Sep 3The Snap results agree with your scoreFeatureA pair you got wrong once and then matched is listed under Cleared with a "2nd try" note, instead of being counted as a miss under a headline that said you cleared the board. The results also appear the moment the celebration closes rather than after a pause. Giving up straight after a wrong tap no longer credits you with that pair.
- Sep 3A rejected answer always tells you whyFeatureType-ins used to empty the box and leave the counter alone with no message. Now every rejection says something: "Not on the list" for a wrong answer, and the name of the answer you already got when you type it a second time.
- Sep 3Type-ins accept the answer on their own sheetFeatureA film title typed without its punctuation now counts: "Lord of the Rings Return of the King" fills the same row as the full colonised title. Monaco is accepted as the capital of Monaco, alongside Monaco City, and the same goes for Yaren and Tarawa. Typing a title that is the start of a longer one on the same board still waits for you to finish, and pressing Enter locks in what you typed.
- Sep 3Clearing a board always counts as clearing itFeatureClear every pair in Match or find every tile in Tile Select and that is the score you keep, however many wrong taps it took. Wrong taps now break ties on the leaderboard instead of eating your score, so a clean run still finishes above a sloppy one. Old runs have been recounted, including the cleared boards that were sitting at zero.
- Sep 3Film pages link to their cast, and actor pages to their filmsFeatureInception and Leonardo DiCaprio both had quizzes and neither knew the other existed. A film now points at the actors it stars who have their own quiz, and an actor at the films they were in, so you can follow a cast from one to the next.
- Sep 3Curated album sets say so on every modeWhen a set is a selection rather than the whole discography, the note now appears on the match, tile and multiple choice pages too, not just the type-in. Album quizzes for bands whose name starts with "The" also read properly: "the 12 Beatles studio albums" instead of "the 12 The Beatles studio albums".
- Sep 3Tile Select is one board, and the wrong tiles are actually temptingTile quizzes used to deal the same items out over several rounds, with Vatican City on Easy and France on Hard, and the wrong tiles were China, Japan, Brazil and Australia, so you could clear a board without knowing any geography. Every difficulty is now a single board: Easy is the ones everyone knows, Hard is San Marino, Andorra and Liechtenstein, and the wrong answers are Turkey, Cyprus, Georgia, Armenia and Morocco. Picking Hard used to make you play the easy board first and the medium one after it; now it gives you the hard board and nothing else, and the difficulty buttons say how many tiles you are getting instead of how many boards. Over seven hundred quizzes have been rebuilt this way across geography, music, film and TV, history, sport and games: an artist board opens with the albums everyone owns and saves the deep cuts for Hard, a cast board opens with the names above the title. Two boards were also handing out real answers as wrong tiles, so European Countries marked Albania wrong and World Countries marked Iraq wrong; that cannot happen again.
- Sep 3Europe says 45 countries everywhereEuropean Countries, Capitals and Flags said 44 in the blurb and 45 on the map card, on the same page. They all say 45 now, taken from the actual list rather than typed in. The area rankings also say what they measure: a country's whole area, which is why all of Russia counts in Europe, with the reasoning on the editorial policy page.
- Sep 3The NHL quizzes stopped giving themselves awayTeam Trivia used to offer another team's branded colours and players from the wrong decade as wrong answers, so a fan could sweep it without thinking. The wrong answers are now plausible: colours you could confuse, players who were actually around for that draft, and teams the club really plays. NHL Cities & Arenas matches teams to their arena instead of a city that was already in the team's name. The Stanley Cup quizzes all run to the same latest season, and the cities map quiz no longer walks you through the league in alphabetical order.
- Sep 3The NHL cities map has state and province bordersFeatureThe map was three empty country shapes, which made the northeast cluster impossible to read. It now shows state and province outlines behind the markers. The "Hide names" button only appears once there are names to hide.
- Sep 3Two Oasis covers no longer print their own answerDefinitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory? were showing their titles in full on the Match board and the type-in clue, so both were free points. The titles are covered now, and the artwork is otherwise untouched.
- Sep 3The leaderboard shows your rank and a This week viewFeatureThe board now pins your own position above the table, so you can see where you stand without hunting for your name. A This week tab ranks XP earned in the last seven days, which gives anyone who started recently a board they can actually win. The players near the top now have the play history to match their totals, and the column that used to say Games says Quizzes, because that is what it counts.
- Sep 3Activity shows players, not our test accountsFeatureThe home activity feed and the online count were filled with our own QA accounts, which do nothing but play the site all day while we test it. They are gone from every public list.
- Sep 3The home page rails mean what they sayFeaturePopular this week now counts plays from the last seven days and says so on each row, and it hides itself on a quiet week instead of quietly showing the all-time chart. Fresh in the catalog is finally ordered by when a quiz was published. No quiz shows up in two lists on the same screen any more.
- Sep 3Suggested for you is actually for youFeatureSigned in, the suggestions under the search box now come from what you have been playing rather than the same four most-played quizzes everyone sees.
- Sep 3Ratings confirm, and stay putFeatureRating a quiz now flashes Saved and tells you your own rating next to the average, with your stars filled and the average behind them. Reloading the page no longer looks like your rating was thrown away.
- Sep 3Every review shows how many players got each answerFeatureMultiple choice, match, ranked and tile select reviews now show what share of players answered each one correctly, the way the map and type-in results already did. Quizzes with too few plays show nothing rather than a number built on five people. Quiz pages also show their total play count.
- Sep 3Guest runs no longer sit above signed-in playersFeatureA run played without an account still appears on a board, labelled Guest (unclaimed), but now below everyone who is signed in. Nobody can be knocked off the top by a score with no name attached to it.
- Sep 3The Office and Jaws trivia is about the show and the filmThe Office multiple choice was a run of broadcast facts: the network, the season count, award categories. It is now Scranton, Dunder Mifflin, the Dundies, Schrute Farms and the pranks. The Jaws quiz says "Jaws" instead of "the 1975 shark thriller", and no question gives away another one's answer.
- Sep 3Your progress numbers agree with each otherFeatureYour account page shows the same level as the badge in the header. Every page now says which thing it is counting: quizzes played, quizzes mastered, and total runs are three different numbers, so they carry three different labels. Branch pages wait for your real numbers instead of showing zero while they load, and the folder list under a branch shows how many of its quizzes you have played. A quiz you have played but not yet medalled on reads "played, no tier yet" instead of "not played", and a goal you have already finished stops asking you for zero more quizzes. Your best medal on a quiz now names the run that earned it, so an old great run is never mistaken for the one you just played.
- Sep 3Filtering by mode shows you the quizzesFeaturePicking a mode or difficulty on a category page used to change the count at the top but leave the folder list underneath, so the matching quizzes were easy to scroll straight past. The list now shows the matches and says how many there are; clear the filter and the folders come back.
- Sep 3Your streak means the same thing everywhereFeatureThe Daily Roads page counts your Daily Trivia streak from the days you actually finished the daily, the same way the Daily Trivia page does, so the two no longer disagree and finishing today never makes the number drop. The three counters on that page now say what each one counts.
- Sep 3Your profile and trophies pages load fastFeatureBoth pages were taking six to eight seconds while the rest of the site took under two. They open immediately now, with your climbs filling in a moment later. Repeated climbs toward the same trophy are listed once instead of a dozen times.
- Sep 3GeoGuessr is backFeatureStreet View was refusing to load after the move to 3r.app. It loads again: drop in, guess where you are, score by distance. Free and unlimited, as before.
- Sep 2Mastery roads come one level at a timeFeatureA road now covers one level of the catalog. Europe Snap Master is the continent-wide sets, not every country quiz in Europe, and each road card lists the roads that open below it, like the country-level roads for each region. Geography roads cover the world and continent quizzes, then hand you the continents one region at a time.
- Sep 2Every finish gets the same results screenFeatureThe animated finish screen now plays after every ending, including a give-up or a sudden-death loss, and it shows your road even on a repeat run. Cold loads no longer flash an empty screen while the animation loads, Snap boards preload their flags before the clock starts, and the Snap results list is a compact grid with your misses first.
- Sep 2Small fixes across quiz pagesFeatureLeaderboards and the stats panel show all-time scores by default. The game-mode chips at the top of a quiz page show your bronze, silver, and gold medals when you are signed out too, matching the progress panel below. Quiz names use one style everywhere, "African Flags: Snap", with no dashes.
- Sep 1The home page finishes loading againFeatureThe progress section on the home page had stopped loading as the catalog grew past eight thousand quizzes. It now loads in a couple of seconds for everyone, signed in or not.

- Aug 13The finish celebration got a big round of fixesFeatureIt now shows every road a quiz belongs to, not just one. A run that misses a few still shows the road you are on, with an honest note on what it takes to light the stop. The step dots are clickable so you can rewatch any part, replaying it actually replays, the Play now button shows it is loading instead of appearing to do nothing, and See all your roads scrolls you right to your roads.
- Aug 13Road progress shows on the page when you play signed outFeatureThe roads and mastery panels on quiz and results pages now show the progress you earn while signed out, matching what the finish celebration tells you. That progress is saved on your device, and signing up keeps it.
- Aug 13Tile Select reviews show the whole boardFeatureAfter a Tile Select run, the review now shows every picture and clearly marks right picks, wrong picks, missed targets, and correct skips.
- Aug 13Match reviews wait for the full boardFeatureGiving up after clearing part of a Match board now shows every pair in the review, including the pairs you had not reached yet.
- Aug 13Road progress always shows in the finish celebrationFeatureOn slower connections the celebration sometimes skipped straight past the road progress you had just earned. It now waits for your progress to arrive and plays it, even if you tap ahead early.

- Aug 12Playing signed out now earns the same progressFeatureStrong runs now count toward your roads whether or not you have an account. Before, a near-perfect run while signed out earned nothing and the finish celebration skipped your road progress; now it matches what the same run earns signed in, and it all carries over when you create an account.
- Aug 12Tile-select results are easier to readFeatureLong answers now stay fully readable in the review, including on phones. The score and wrong-pick count are also clearly separated.
- Aug 12Give Up keeps the results honestFeatureIn Multiple Choice, Retry Missed now includes questions you gave up before reaching. In Match, giving up now preserves every pair you cleared, reports that partial score honestly, and shows the full board in review.
- Aug 12Multiple-choice review follows your runFeatureThe answer review now stays in the order you played, including Random and Retry Missed runs. Twilight and DCEU questions also have clearer explanations and working source links.
- Aug 12Cleaner Type-in clues and endingsFeatureTwilight now accepts natural Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Part 2 answers, and the DCEU clue ladder gives every row a useful starting point. Giving up or scoring zero now goes straight to the results instead of playing a victory sequence.
- Aug 12Random Type-in runs explain the rulesFeatureWhen Random is on in a Type-in quiz, the setup now says that you answer the highlighted rows one at a time. No more learning that rule from a rejected answer.
- Aug 12Quiz results now tell the whole storyFeatureFinish screens now keep board progress, competitive score and cleared count distinct. Missed-answer review includes explanations and sources, Retry Missed keeps the right question total, Retake keeps your timer and modifiers, and Snap review stays on the board you actually played.

Click anywhere to skip ahead, or press Escape to jump straight to your results, which still hold your score, time, leaderboard spot and answer review. Prefer things calm? - Aug 7Snap is one board now, and picking Hard means harderFeatureEasy, Medium and Hard used to just mean a longer game, and the last row of a big board often sat half empty. Now each one is a real board you clear in a single go: a small grid, a medium grid, or a big one, always filled edge to edge. The bigger the grid, the deeper it digs. On African Flags the small board is South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria; the big one is Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Comoros. Rounds are gone, so you clear the board and you are done. Flags on the taller boards also load right away instead of only after you scroll to them.

- Aug 6Game quizzes that were really just counting are goneSome game series name their releases by year, so a quiz asking you to type the games was asking you to count: Madden NFL 18, 19, 20, and so on. Twenty-nine of those quizzes are removed across fifteen series. Madden got rebuilt around something you can actually know: name the cover athletes, put them in order, and pick out which stars have fronted a cover and which never did. The series where the titles are the only hook now stick to trivia.
- Aug 6The last two readable crests are fixedFeatureThe Rangers and Capitals logos are the team name written out, so blurring them was never going to work. The logo quiz now shows the Rangers Liberty Head and the Capitals eagle instead. No crest in the quiz spells its own answer anymore.
- Aug 6Team short names all count nowFeatureEvery NHL team accepts its three-letter code and its plain nickname, and we checked every abbreviation against every other one so that typing one team can never get you marked wrong or credited to the wrong team partway through the word.

- Aug 5Chart quizzes you can finish in one sittingNaming the number-one album of every year since 1956 is 66 answers, which was the only way in. There are now seven shorter cuts beside it, split by era: three for albums and four for songs, each between sixteen and twenty-five years. Pick the era you actually lived through, or take the full run.
- Aug 5One team crest no longer spells out the answerFeatureThe Toronto crest had the team name written across it, so the logo quiz was a reading test for that one. The name is gone and the leaf is not. Two crests are still readable, the Rangers and the Capitals, because their logos are the team name and nothing else; those need a different image and are on the list.
- Aug 5Reporting a problem takes two tapsFeatureFound a wrong answer, or typed something that should have counted? Report a problem now asks what went wrong, then one follow-up question, and that is it. You do not need an account, and you do not need to describe which quiz or setting you were on because we already know.
- Aug 5Every NHL team now has a real home pageFeatureAll 32 teams were missing from the menus, and a team page opened straight into one roster quiz as if that were all there was. Teams now sit under NHL in the left menu with a Show all toggle, and a team page works like any other category: what is popular, your mastery ladder, and the full list of that team’s quizzes, with the crest and franchise facts on top.
- Aug 5Difficulty choices you can actually finishFeatureSome quizzes offered an Easy setting with two or three questions in it. A quiz now only offers a difficulty choice when there is enough behind each one: none under 16 questions, two settings up to 24, three above that. Around 800 quizzes changed, mostly in Sports.
- Aug 5Chart quizzes give you the yearFeatureThe number-one album and single quizzes hid the year on their hardest setting, which left a page of blank rows and nothing to go on. The year is now always shown, the artist and a first-letter hint come in on the easier settings, and the pointless Decade column beside an exact year is gone.
- Aug 5The end-of-game review shows the right columnsFeatureGiving up on a music, movie or awards quiz used to show sports headings, Player and Pos, with all the clues stripped out. Every quiz now reviews under its own headings, so an album quiz says Album and keeps the year and artist beside each answer. Around 600 quizzes were affected, including all-time leaders lists that had been hiding rank and career totals.
- Aug 5Clicking through the catalog feels like it workedFeatureClicking a category could look like nothing happened, so you clicked again. Every catalog link now lights up the moment you click it and shows a progress line at the top of the page while the next page loads.
- Aug 5Team names accept what you would typeFeatureThe NHL logo quiz took nyr for the Rangers but not nyi for the Islanders, and refused Mammoth for the Utah Mammoth. Every team now accepts its official three-letter code and its nickname on its own.
- Aug 5Leaving a quiz pauses itFeatureSwitching tabs or leaving the page mid-quiz used to leave the clock running, and coming back dropped you into a game already in progress. The run now pauses when you leave and waits for you to press resume, so you are not charged for time you were away.

- Aug 4Two whole sections of Music came out of hidingFeatureAfrobeats and Charts and Years were both live and playable but impossible to find by browsing: seven Afrobeats artists and every Billboard year-end set. Both now appear under Music where they belong. Joining them: Best-Selling Albums of All Time and Best-Selling Singles.
- Aug 4Song titles accept the name you actually useFeatureChart and best-seller quizzes used to want the full catalogue title, brackets and all. Now Satisfaction counts for I Cant Get No Satisfaction, Despacito counts without its featured artist, and Imagine counts without Remastered 2010 tacked on the end. Also fixed a missing apostrophe in the 2003 number-one album.

- Jul 28Countries in alphabetical orderFeatureContinent menus used to list countries in no particular order: Europe ran France, Germany, Italy, Spain, with the United Kingdom dead last. Every continent now leads with its regional groupings (Northern Europe, the Caribbean, and so on) followed by all countries A to Z, so you can actually find the one you want.
- Jul 28Cleaner browsing rowsFeatureThe scrolling card rows on the homepage and category pages lost their clunky scrollbars: arrow buttons page you through instead, and swiping still works everywhere. Mastery path suggestions now wait until you are signed in, so the homepage leads with what is popular and new instead of an arbitrary checklist.

Changed your mind mid-form? One click returns you to the page you came from.
- Jul 27The Stats tab says hello, onceFeatureA faint glow now traces the Stats tab on the right edge of the page, so first-time visitors notice where the leaderboards and personal bests live. Open the panel once and the glow retires for good.
- Jul 27A signature at the bottom of every pageFeatureScroll to the end of any page and you will find THREE ROADS stamped across the full width in giant outlined letters, ROADS picked out in the brand indigo. Purely decorative, entirely intentional.

- Jul 22The logo grew upFeatureThe header now carries a bold 3R monogram next to a stacked THREE / ROADS wordmark, and the browser-tab icon matches. Mouse over the logo for a small surprise.

- Jul 17ThreeRoads has a logoFeatureA new mark across the whole site: the numeral 3 built from puzzle-grid squares, with one square solved in the brand indigo. You will see it in the header, in your browser tab, on your home screen if you pin the site, and on the preview card when you share a link.
- Jul 17Pages show up fasterFeatureA speed pass across the site: text appears in its final look right away instead of flickering into place, the daily crossword shows its grid and clues the moment the page opens, and pages spend less time frozen while they load on slower phones. Tapping a crossword square that only starts a down word now switches you to the down clue automatically.
- Jul 16Every quiz goes full screen on phonesFeatureMap quizzes got it first; now everything does: starting any quiz or daily game on a phone takes over the whole screen, so nothing scrolls away mid-game. That covers type-ins, multiple choice, match, tile select, fill-in-the-blank, picture rounds, snap, ranked, puzzles, and all five daily games. Exit any time; the next quiz starts full screen again.
- Jul 16Slimmer controls while you play on a phoneFeatureThe in-game controls got out of the way on small screens: multiple choice shows its answers without scrolling now, instructions fold into a single line you can tap to expand, the tile submit bar no longer covers the last row of tiles, and every game fits its buttons on screen. A pass over every mode on a small phone also fixed a see-through background on snap and a cut-off prompt on puzzles.
- Jul 16More room to type on AndroidFeatureChrome on Android was showing its passwords and payment bar above the keyboard while you typed quiz answers, eating a row of screen for no reason. Answer boxes now tell the browser they are not login fields, so the bar stays away.
- Jul 16A clear rule for contested bordersFeatureThe editorial policy now spells out how every contested border is drawn: a territory belongs to the state the world recognizes as sovereign, and where the world recognizes no owner, maps show who actually administers each part. With that rule, answering Syria on world and Asia maps now fills in the Golan Heights, and the policy page explains the Kashmir lines and why population figures follow the standard datasets.
- Jul 16The world map starts at a comfortable zoom on phonesFeatureWorld map quizzes on a phone now open framed on the continents at a readable size, pannable in every direction, instead of a tiny strip of world between empty bands. Also tidied the footer into a single clean row of links and fixed the results-page sort buttons squeezing onto two lines.
- Jul 16Small fixes from a full test sweepFeatureTyping a city on a states quiz fills its state again ("Mumbai" credits Maharashtra), both Congos are accepted when you type just "Congo", the crossword cursor now turns the moment you press an up or down arrow, and made-up archive dates like a 13th month correctly show the missing page.
- Jul 16Map quizzes go full screen on phonesFeatureStarting a map quiz on a phone now takes over the whole screen, so you can never accidentally scroll away mid-game. The controls slimmed down to fit: pause and give up are now compact buttons, and the score is shown once instead of twice. Tap Exit for the in-page view whenever you want it; the next quiz starts full screen again.
- Jul 16Cleaner map quizzesFeatureMap quizzes got a polish pass: you can now hide the names that appear on countries you have guessed, names size themselves to your zoom and spell out in full only where they fit, and the markers that point out remaining countries are all one size, so a tiny country is as easy to spot as a huge one.
- Jul 16The finish page now shows exactly what you missedFeatureA new Misses view on the results list jumps straight to the answers you got wrong, the missed ones light up on the finish map, and "Retry missed only" now replays just those answers instead of the whole quiz. The finish map also fills territories the same way the in-game map does.
- Jul 16Maps now match our editorial policyFeatureAnswering Ukraine on a world or Europe map now fills in Crimea, answering Cyprus fills the whole island, and Western Sahara and Somaliland fill in with Morocco and Somalia. The world jigsaw follows the same lines. See the editorial policy page for where we draw every contested border.
- Jul 16Category pages are much faster on phonesFeatureBrowsing a category like Geography now shows the full quiz list right away instead of a loading placeholder. Also fixed a bug where the top menu could disappear on phones while moving between pages.
- Jul 15The whole site got fasterFeatureA big round of under-the-hood improvements: every page now starts loading instantly, quiz pages and the home page included, and clicking around the site feels instant.

- Jul 14Typos get the benefit of the doubtFeatureType-in answers now accept honest misspellings when they can only mean one answer: "nigiria" counts for Nigeria. Near neighbors like Slovakia and Slovenia still ask for precision, since two letters is all that separates them.
- Jul 14A full phone polish passFeatureEvery mode and page audited on a real phone and fixed: word search drag rebuilt, an on-screen keyboard for the crossword, no more content hiding under the header, bigger touch targets, and dozens of smaller repairs.

- Jun 13Album covers as cluesFeatureDiscography type-ins now show each album cover with the printed title blurred out, so the sleeve you remember is the hint.
- Jun 13Sign out from anywhereFeatureThe header gained an account menu: profile, settings, and sign out, on every page.
- Jun 13Fairer drag-to-order scoringFeatureRanked quizzes now judge each slot on its own. Swapping two entries costs you those two rows, not the whole board.
- Jun 12Benefit of the doubt on tiny map targetsFeatureClick-the-map now credits a near-hit on very small countries when your click clearly meant them. Sorry about that, Liechtenstein.
- Jun 11Scores and timers tell the truthFeatureA dozen fixes to finish screens, tiers, and timers so every number means exactly what it looks like. Give-ups no longer count as your best.

- Jun 10Look it upFeatureEvery revealed correct answer now links to its Wikipedia article, on every quiz.
- Jun 10Order by dateFeatureRanked quizzes gained a chronological dimension: put presidents, battles, or albums in time order. Same-date items count in any order.
- Jun 10Surnames acceptedFeaturePeople quizzes accept a last name alone when it can only mean one person. "Lincoln" works; you do not have to type "Abraham Lincoln".
- Jun 10Faster finish screenFeatureResults paint instantly when you finish a quiz signed in, instead of after a multi-second wait.
- Jun 10Click-the-map fixed at the rootFeatureClicking a country registers that country, every country has a clickable target, and scattered island nations finally got fair hit areas.
- Jun 10Shareable filtersFeatureFilter and sort choices on category pages are written into the page address, so a filtered view survives a refresh and can be sent to a friend.
- Jun 10One row per topic in searchFeatureSearch results collapse to a single row per topic instead of listing every mode separately.
- Jun 10Catalog cleanupRemoved roughly 4,500 low-quality quizzes from the early catalog so browsing only surfaces sets we stand behind.
